Tennis is my passion and, as an LTA Accredited Coach, I absolutely love to develop tennis players of all ages and abilities, regardless of the stage of their development.
I started playing tennis at a young age. As a junior I played many LTA tournaments in the UK, I was twice Boys Under 18 singles champion at Woking Lawn Tennis Club, the captain of my school tennis team and represented my club and school in fixtures and tournaments all across Surrey and South East England. At the age of 15, I attained a Tennis Scholarship at Foxhills Country Club in the UK, where I continued my tennis development under the guidance of some of the best tennis coaches in Surrey.
Outside of tennis, I studied German and Business Studies at Portsmouth University and the Fachhochschule Regensburg. I subsequently gained approximately fifteen years professional experience in a variety of industries and countries, working in administration, project management, human resources and as an analyst for the New Zealand and Australian Governments.
While living In Australia, I discovered my passion for tennis coaching and worked towards attaining my coaching qualifications with Tennis Australia. In 2016, I completed the Tennis Australia Community Coaching course and also attained the ATPCA Graduate Pro Level 1 Tennis Coaching Qualification. The following year, I completed the Tennis Australia Junior Development qualification, which is equivalent to the LTA Level 3 qualification in the UK.
In Australia, I continued to compete in tournaments and finished first in the advanced fixtures at the Queensland Tennis Centre, while also competing in the Brisbane Super League.
I coached at Aspire Tennis Australia and was later Head Coach at Ignite Tennis in Rochedale, Queensland, where my proudest achievement was coaching the red, orange and green ball teams for Rochedale State School in the 2019 Brisbane International Schools Based Competition. The red ball team were successful in winning the Met East district competition.
I am passionate about furthering my tennis coaching knowledge and have previously attended the Australian Open Tennis Coaching Conference and the Brisbane International Tennis Coaching Conference, along with attending many other coaching workshops and events in the UK and Australia. I aspire to be the best coach I can possibly be and I am dedicated to keeping up to date with modern tennis coaching techniques.
In 2019, I returned to the UK from Australia, and was employed at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton working in a short term role with the Coach Development & Support Team for the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA).
Since September 2020, I have been coaching at Hawker Tennis, based at the YMCA Hawker Centre in Kingston. I manage and deliver the beginner and improver junior programme on behalf of the Hawker Centre and run junior holiday camps, matchplays and private lessons for juniors and adults. I really enjoy coaching at Hawker Tennis and I have enjoyed developing the programme and seeing so many players progress. I am particularly proud to have captained the U9 & U10 teams to winning their Surrey divisions in 2023 at the first attempt.
I look forward to seeing you on court at Hawker Tennis soon!
