Tots Tennis is a fun and active introduction to tennis, designed to help young children develop the skills and confidence they need to enjoy sport and movement.
Sessions use games, colourful equipment and age-appropriate activities to keep children moving, exploring and learning through play.
At this age, children learn best when they are active and having fun.
Sessions are designed to keep children engaged through challenges, games and activities, creating a positive first experience of tennis.
Children need to develop strong fundamental movement skills. Sessions include activities based around running, jumping, catching, throwing, striking, leaping, balancing and dodging. These skills provide an important foundation for tennis and many other sports.
Children are introduced to the basic skills of tennis through age-appropriate activities.
Using smaller rackets, modified balls and adapted court areas, players begin to explore striking, sending and receiving, movement and early rally skills.
Tots Tennis is about more than learning how to hit a tennis ball.
Sessions encourage children to listen, work with others and become more independent, helping every child feel comfortable, involved and confident on court.
My approach is centred around learning through play.
Children are encouraged to explore, solve simple movement challenges and discover different ways to move and use the racket and ball. Activities are adapted to suit each child's stage of development.
Above all, Tots Tennis should be a positive and enjoyable first step into the game.
My aim is to help children build strong movement foundations, develop confidence and, most importantly, start to love tennis.
